I’ve honestly been SO EXCITED to share more from Katie & Lewis’ wedding at Doxford Barns on the 6th August 2022! We had THE BEST day that was full of celebration, partying and chilled-out vibes… well ‘chill’ post ceremony that is because Lewis was more than a touch nervous during the morning!!
Katie & Lewis don’t really like being centre of attention, so for their wedding they were more looking forward to just creating a big party for all their family and friends to enjoy themselves and picked the shortest ceremony possible so that they could get out to the beautiful courtyard at Doxford Barns with everyone – however after seeing both the courtyard and the weather it was totally understandable why!! Keeping their couple photographs short wasn’t a problem with these two, they’re so beautiful together and finding out more about how they met had me in hysterics!!
The night they met they were in a bar, however Lewis was very close to not being let in!! He made an unfortunate footwear choice by wearing trainers and this bar wasn’t letting anyone wearing trainers in… BUT after walking away he had the most ingenious (or at least what he thought was the most ingenious) idea! He took his black socks off and put them OVER his trainers, making little black sock-shoes instead. Either way, this worked and the bouncer didn’t seem to bat an eyelid at his sock-shoes and miraculously it didn’t turn Katie off either when they bumped into each other inside and started chatting.
You definitely need to keep an eye out for the speech photo where Lewis gave us a visual representation of his sock-shoes idea! Dragons Den here he comes!
It was the biggest pleasure capturing Katie & Lewis’ big day and honestly it was probably one of my most relaxed weddings I’ve ever shot in my life! Relaxed yet filled with some SERIOUS partying in the evening – I definitely saw some shots flying around before I left!!
I’d love to wish Katie & Lewis the most amazing life together, they certainly started it the right way by jetting off on their honeymoon. So for now, I’ll let the photographs do the rest of the talking and wish Katie & Lewis the biggest of congratulations!
