It was the most perfect day for a wedding! With the sun shining on a stunning Spring morning I pulled up to Springkell House on the 2nd of April to see Laura & Liam for their big day, and it truly was an absolute pleasure spending their wedding with them.
We started the morning with a room bustling with bridesmaids and little ones, with gifts being handed out, bubbles flowing and maybe a tear or two being shed while makeup and hair were doing a beautiful job. But it wasn’t just the bridesmaids and flower girls getting the gifts, there were two super special ones ready and waiting for Laura & Liam from each other!
Allen (their videographer) and I very quickly realised how romantic Liam was, not just by the way he proposed (more about that later!) but also by the gift he gave Laura… A Tiffany necklace! But not just any Tiffany necklace, it was exactly the same one he gave Laura at the start of their relationship that she barely took off, but this one had a diamond in it! Laura didn’t let Liam outdo her on the thoughtful gifts though, she bought him the watch he’d been admiring for ages, and you certainly can say he was shocked when he opened it!
The morning drifted by in a blur, and with some beautiful first looks with Laura’s grandad and her bridesmaids (their reactions are so cute!!) and it was soon time to walk down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye at the front of that ceremony as their little girl Lucie came running into Liam’s arms followed by Laura with her grandad guiding her down (definitely check out Liam’s reaction – this moment of their day will be one I’ll never forget!)
It really has been a pleasure getting to know Laura & Liam more and a new lockdown side hustle for them created some stunning signage for the wedding – they have a wonderful company called Elements & Co - and spent the day before their wedding making sure the marquee for the wedding breakfast was styled to utter perfection!
It’s unbelievably clear to see how amazingly matched Laura & Liam are, truly best friends and each other’s other halves. They’ve been together for over 4 years and when it came to Liam proposing he knew just where he wanted to do it. They have a special place together that they love to visit by one of the Scottish lochs and actually visited it for some photographs when Laura was pregnant with Lucie. 6 months after Laura gave birth to Lucie, Liam used it as an excuse to go there again all together, but what Laura didn’t realise was Liam had an ulterior motive, to get down on one knee!!!
… And we can certainly say the rest is history!
With some Jager-bombs flowing and evening guests arrived there was a super special surprise for everyone before the dancing kicked off – fireworks! They were honestly some of the best I’ve seen! I left that night with the dancefloor full and everyone fully celebrating the happy couple. I hope Laura & Liam had the most amazing evening and wish them the happiest of lives together because they truly deserve it!
Here’s to the new Mr & Mrs Murray!
