THE VENUE DIRECTORY - LOW WOOD BAY HOTEL & SPA | THE LAKE DISTRICT

Did you catch the first of my 'Venue Directory' series last week?

With more than enough time on my hands I wanted to share with you all my experience of some of the utterly fabulous venues I've had the pleasure to work at, and today's blog is dedicated to Low Wood Bay Hotel & Spa.

I've been lucky enough to attend their wedding fayres for the past few years and shoot some beautiful weddings, so when I started making a list of all the venues I wanted to showcase, Low Wood Bay was certainly towards the top of the list. Part of The English Lakes Group, they overhauled the hotel in 2017 for a multi-million pound renovation and to date, it's definitely one of my favourite Lake District Hotels to visit for anything from a spa day, to lunch, or even water sports.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere, in the heart of the National Park, Low Wood Bay is the perfect base for relaxing, exploring the Lakes or celebrating your big day. The resort offers 131 beautifully luxurious rooms to ensure your stay is exceptional with full access to the on-site health club, which boasts an indoor pool, jacuzzi, infra-red sauna, steam room, revitalising spa treatments and fully-equipped gym (normally I wouldn't have cared that they had a gym, but one of my grooms were spotted in the gym on the morning of his wedding, so this might be a bonus to some of you out there!)

When it comes to your wedding day you can create one that is completely bespoke to you here, whether you want to get ready on site or at home, have a church wedding or a ceremony within one of the beautiful rooms in the hotel, and have your wedding breakfast in a choice of three different rooms (size dependent).

The biggest bonus about this venue in my eyes are the wedding coordinators and team members. NOTHING is too much trouble for these guys and they really do their utmost to make the day perfect, even down to your suppliers.

I remember one wedding day I shot here, the mother of the bride had arranged surprise singing waiters during the wedding breakfast, because of this I didn't get chance to have any food, however the staff noticed this and kept a plate of food warm for me until the evening at 7pm and told me to ask for it whenever I was ready. This might sound small, but in my eyes if a venue takes care of your suppliers this well, then they will go above and beyond for you, the newly married couple.

I'm a big advocate for good customer service, and Low Wood Bay never disappoints in this!

There's so many little extra's at Low Wood Bay that you can plan to make your wedding completely unique, from your drinks reception overlooking the water, to a Lakes Cruise for you and all your guests to break up the day.

There's so many things that I could chat about when it comes to this venue and why I like it... but let's get down to the nitty gritty, the BIG question. Yes, the food is outstanding! I always laugh that I eat my way round wedding venues, I try so many menus, and when I'm not working weddings, that's right, I'm going out for dinner to other places! But, I have to say, when I have a wedding coming up here, I am without fail always looking forward to the meal! So rest assured, your guests will be going away raving about their meal.

Got a LARGE wedding? No fear here, Low Wood Bay can cater for up to 280 guests and is one of the biggest venues in the Lakes.

Whether I'm here working a wedding, stopping off for a drink in their bar, chilling in their spa, eating at one of their two restaurants (LOVE Blue Smoke on the Bay) or using the watersports centre to hire a boat on the water or paddle board on a particularly lovely day, Low Wood Bay is definitely one of my go-to Lake District Hotel's. Not only does it have IT ALL, but since the renovation it's honestly an unbelievably beautiful and serene place.

If you're looking for a Lake District, or Lake side wedding, Low Wood Bay is certainly worth a visit!
