Sat in Olive & Bean in Newcastle, (one of my favourite old food haunts when I used to live in the city), I met Shirley & Pedro for the first time - 9 months after booking me! These two are based in London but wanted their wedding at the perfect venue; both families were travelling from Portugal and Holland, so whether they booked their big day in London or Northumberland, their guests would be travelling either way. Luckily for me they decided to choose the oh-so wonderful Healey Barn where I'm a recommended supplier and booked me to shoot their big day.
Fast forward from that wonderful meeting getting to know these two a little more at the start of the year, to their big day on the 28th September 2019, the whole day flew by in a blink of an eye!
With the sun beating down on us giving us all a glorious day and the ability to appreciate the stunning grounds of Healey with reception drinks outside, I could have sworn we were anywhere but Northumberland... I'm pretty sure their families brought the stunning weather with them!
I just adore how Shirley and Pedro truly made the day their own, from a private first look between the two of them in the morning before their ceremony, to Shirley's parents tearing up when they got to share a moment with their daughter. The ceremony was filled with a tear or two, and in contrast the speeches had laughter filling the room with speeches from the traditional three, as well as some words from both Pedro's parents, and one of Shirley's wonderful friends. ⠀ It’s been such an honour getting to know these two over the past few years and capturing their big day for them. I left the party while the dance floor was in full swing and I’m sure it stayed like that the WHOLE NIGHT! (I was secretly dying to get up there myself!!)⠀ ⠀ But for now I'll let the photographs tell the rest of Mr & Mrs Rodrigues story!
