Did you know one of my favourite flowers are Peonies? So on Lisa & Andy's wedding morning when I got a glimpse of Lisa's bouquet I fell totally in love! A mass of beautiful pink petals everywhere! Totally my dream bouquet for detail shots!
First, let's back up a bit! Lisa & Andy got married on the 16th June 2018 at the award winning Skitby House. I started the morning at Lisa's house with the girls and Charlie & Leila, Lisa's two sweet children. It was certainly the most relaxing, chilled out wedding morning I've worked, with the girls chatting away and popping open a bottle of bubbly or two between them all.
When it was time to get Lisa in her STUNNING wedding dress, her, (now), mother-in-law helped her in it with her daughter Leila on shoe and jewellery duty. Lisa's first looks were a special few, first one with Charlie, her son seeing her for the first time in her dress, (his reaction was amazing!), followed by her beautiful bridesmaids, who were wowed by how beautiful she looked!
I nipped out at this point to get a head start at Skitby, and once I arrived everyone was already having pre-ceremomy drinks and celebrating the future wedding!
Their ceremony went perfectly, with maybe one or two hiccups trying to get the rings on - I'm sure they fit when they bought them! However, unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side for the next few hours, and instead of shooting the usual couple and family formal shots, we decided to save those for later - and thank goodness we did, because the sun decided to make an appearance after dinner and we had chance to get some wonderfully sweet photographs of the two of them.
Some little stand out moments of the day for me were having Charlie as my little second shooter for the day, (letting him use my third back up camera), the magical couple shots in the field by Skitby, and the very ecstatic girl who caught the bouquet in the evening - I wouldn't want to have been against her, she was on a mission to get those flowers!
I hope Lisa & Andy have had a wonderful 10 months as a newly married couple, and family of four. I wish them all the love in the world in all their future years together.
