I have been SO EXCITED to share this one with you all!!! Sarah & Marc got married on Saturday at the gorgeous Askham Hall with their ceremony just a short walk down the road at Askham Church. These two have been together for 11 years - they met just as they were finishing school, and honestly, it shows in the way they’re completely at ease with each other and with Marc saying in his speech that he was marrying his best friend. 

 

Marc proposed in York (he was VERY nervous apparently!) and yesterday, surrounded by their favourite people, they finally made it official. The weather JUST held off when it needed to - a few threatening clouds and spitting, but no rain in the important bits - a very lucky outcome and proving that the buried sausage worked!

The morning was kept calm as Sarah and her girls got ready in two nearby rooms, giving her some peaceful space before all the excitement. One of the sweetest moments of the day came during the walk down the aisle — Sarah, caught in the moment, forgot to pull her veil over her face and remembered just two steps before reaching Marc. She did it right there, giving everyone a good giggle and some extra smiles just before the ceremony began.

 

The reception back at Askham Hall was full of music and surprises. A pianist set the tone beautifully during the drinks reception, and later a saxophonist brought even more energy to the celebration. One of the nicest moments was when Sarah’s uncle joined in, singing along with the pianist.

As soon as the evening celebrations began the dance floor was buzzing all night, with everyone making the most of the party. And let’s not forget Sarah’s dress — the train was detachable, making it perfect for transitioning into the evening. She removed it just before the first dance, ready to move much more freely.

​

From beginning to end, Sarah & Marc’s wedding perfect from start to finish. It was an honour to capture their day for them and I’m so thrilled to finally share their large wedding preview with you all.
