The other week at the beautiful Springkell House, Natalie & Jon finally said I do, after a love story that started with friendship, a spontaneous plane ticket and a holiday on the other side of the world.

They met while working together and, for the first year, were just friends… although Jon definitely had other ideas. Eventually, Jon left the job and decided to go travelling with no real ‘end date’ in sight. Before he left, on a complete whim, he asked Natalie to go with him.

Natalie said no. 

Fast forward a little while and Jon booked Natalie a flight to meet him for a two week holiday on the other side of the world, as friends, obviously. This time, she said yes. Very, VERY quickly into that holiday, Jon told Natalie exactly how he felt. And that was that. Their relationship began with sunshine, beaches and cocktails, which feels like a pretty solid start to a love story!

A romantic (but VERY nervous) proposal in Paris followed, and eventually these two decided Scotland was the place to bring it all together.

And after apparently paying an Etsy witch to sort the weather, they got the most beautiful day. There were wonderful speeches, singing waiters, a dance floor that very quickly filled up and one hell of a party to finish the day. But above all, Natalie and Jon are two of the kindest, loveliest people, and it was such a joy to be there to capture it all.

Here’s to a lifetime of travels, adventures, sunshine, beaches, cocktails and plenty more stories to tell.
