Their Wedding Story
I always love when couples create a wedding that THEY want instead of sticking to traditions and I think Lucy and Lewis NAILED that brief!
Getting married on NYE was never going to give a ‘traditional’ wedding vibe but they changed things up beautifully to give a SERIOUS party feel, but then again when you have 14 groomsmen and 13 bridesmaids/bridesmen in your wedding party you’re always going to have a GREAT party atmosphere!
Lucy kept the morning of the wedding very relaxed with only a couple of family members in the room, BUT she did do one MASSIVE first look with all 13 of her wedding party and from that point onwards the drinks were flowing, and the fun really began.
When you opt for a wedding celebrant instead of a registrar it’s always a tell-tale sign that the couple are going to do things their way, but Lucy and Lewis definitely did take that theory to the extreme in the BEST of ways! From the moment their guests sat down they officially kicked off the party with the groomsmen walking down the aisle in many various ways with lots of different props, upping the anti ready for Lewis to make his grand entrance adorned with a red cape. You would think with all the excitement Lewis wouldn’t be that nervous or emotional when Lucy stepped out on the aisle with her dad, but as he paused to take a moment to hold back the tears, he lay his eyes on her and whisper the word “wow”. The centre stage was hers and he couldn’t take his eyes off her!
Making the ceremony even more personal Lucy’s gran stood up for a reading part way through and when it came time to do their personal vows to each other they played rock, paper, scissors on stage to decide who went first!
As you can imagine the rest of the day flew by in a blur of shots, laughter and so many beautiful and hilarious speeches.
Now no New Years Eve party would be complete without an official dancefloor kick off and with a change of dress for Lucy and a change of jacket for Lewis, after they had their first dance they officially opened the dancefloor with a six piece modern brass band storming the stage!
It’s without a doubt that Lucy & Lewis know how to put on a wedding THEIR WAY, and I’m sure every single guest can say that it was one of the most memorable weddings and NYE parties they’ve ever attended!
