In between flights the other week I got the most amazing opportunity to shoot Katy & Edu’s wedding at the beautiful Low House . Considering half of the wedding was Spanish AND it was a sunny day, there were certainly times I questioned if I was indeed in England! 

After a mishap with their original photographer, 4 weeks ago Katy emailed me titling it ‘HELP’. I’d kept the 24th September free due to catching a stupidly early flight the following morning, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to help a wonderful couple out and agreed to shoot their day. 

Considering we’d only been in touch for 4 weeks, I felt like I’d known Katy & Edu for years! These two are honestly one of the nicest couples, constantly caring about others and truly just loving life together. 

Meeting while Katy was living in Spain, herself and Edu had got set up by a friend. The meeting was for Edu to improve his English with Katy helping him and Katy to improve her Spanish with Edu as a bit of a tutor. The drinks meeting that was meant as a learning experience for them both turned into the best decision of their lives, eventually moving to Edinburgh together. Edu made the move to a different country whilst his job was still ‘working from home’ but after a bit of time they asked him to come into the office every Tuesday… according to the best man’s speech Edu proceeded to use his holiday leave every single Tuesday for the next 8 weeks! 

It was an absolute pleasure getting to know Katy and Edu, honestly I feel so honoured that I could capture their day for them!! I left their day with the biggest of smiles on my face and while the dancefloor was PACKED – I’m very much assuming the entire night carried on that way considering Katy & Edu are known to be THE couple who never leaves the dancefloor!!

 

I’d love to wish these two the happiest of lives together and thank them so much for waiting so long for their preview – I’m sure you can agree, it was worth the wait!!
