Their Wedding Story

Some weddings leave a lasting impression, not because they're extravagant or perfectly choreographed, but because they feel completely, unapologetically them. Clara and Reuben's wedding was exactly that.

From the moment I arrived, it was obvious this day had been planned with intention. They did everything in a way that reflected who they are, choosing to spend their wedding day focused on the moments that mattered most rather than following tradition for tradition's sake.

​

One of my favourite parts of the morning was their decision to share a first look before the ceremony. It gave them the chance to slow everything down, take each other in without the pressure of a waiting aisle, and spend some quiet moments together before the celebrations began. It also meant we were able to capture so many of their couple portraits before the ceremony, leaving the rest of the day feeling wonderfully relaxed.

The morning was spent surrounded by their favourite people. Bridesmaids and groomsmen filled the house with laughter, excitement and just the right amount of nervous anticipation. Their first look had everyone (myself included!) feeling emotional, with happy tears and huge smiles all round, but somehow the best was still to come.

Their woodland ceremony, tucked away near Reuben's family home in Scotland, was nothing short of magical. Guests made the ten-minute walk through the countryside before arriving at the most breathtaking ceremony spot overlooking the rolling Scottish hills. It was one of those locations that instantly makes you stop and appreciate just how beautiful Scotland really is.

As they exchanged vows beneath the trees, surrounded by the people they love most, the atmosphere was incredibly special. It felt intimate, peaceful and completely personal.

Then came the confetti...

​

Pure joy. So much energy, so many smiles, and absolute chaos in the very best way. These are always some of my favourite moments to photograph because you simply can't fake that kind of happiness.

​

The celebrations continued back at the house, where colourful décor, thoughtful details and glorious sunshine created the perfect setting for the afternoon. Every corner reflected Clara and Reuben's personalities, making the entire day feel warm, welcoming and effortlessly beautiful.

​

As the evening drew closer, I thought the day couldn't possibly get any better, but Scotland had one final gift waiting for us.

​

Just before I left for the evening, we wandered across the road from the bell tent into a field as the sun began to dip lower in the sky. The golden light was absolutely incredible, wrapping around them in the softest glow and creating the dreamiest backdrop imaginable. After such an emotional, joy-filled day, those final portraits felt wonderfully calm and intimate, a quiet moment for the two of them before the evening celebrations continued.

They are without a doubt some of my favourite photographs from the entire day. Romantic, timeless and filled with the kind of light photographers dream about, they were the perfect way to end an unforgettable wedding.

Trying to narrow these photographs down for this blog has been almost impossible. Every part of Clara and Reuben's day was filled with genuine emotion, beautiful scenery and moments that felt completely authentic to them.
