Their Wedding Story

You know it’s going to be a pretty great wedding when the couple are Irish and have planned a three day wedding over St Patrick’s weekend, but add in running off to the local beach for some photographs in the middle of the day and a band in the evening with the biggest speakers you’ve seen… it really does have all the makings of the most memorable day!

Amalia & Hugh planned everything out perfectly, even the stunning sunshine that followed us throughout the day! Getting married at Doxford Barns gave them the most perfect setting for their countryside, secluded wedding where all their guests could party the weekend away with drinks beginning before the ceremony and shots kicking the evening off. Drinks might have been the theme of the wedding stories in the speeches too… but not for why you might think!

Amalia & Hugh met on a popular dating app and had arranged to meet at a local cocktail bar many years ago. Hugh starting the night with a friend for a few dutch courage drinks, left to meet Amalia where he was astounded how many rounds of cocktails she could get through! He’d never seen a girl handle her drink so well, especially since he himself was a little worse for wear by the end of it… however Amalia had a game plan, every second cocktail she ordered was a non-alcoholic one! Drinking Hugh under the table he knew she was something special, but it wasn’t until later that he realised she was both special and incredibly smart in her drinks orders!!

Everything about Amalia & Hugh’s wedding last weekend was absolutely perfect, getting the day they’d planned and hoped for for over 2 years. I’m so honoured that I got to capture all their happy memories and I could tell you plenty more stories, but instead I think the photographs will tell their story better than I do!

Here’s to the beautiful Mr & Mrs Byrne!
