Their Wedding Story

They were planning a wedding for over 100 people in the heart of Windermere... that is until covid hit! The past two years gave Sian and Carl the ability to really think what they wanted out of their wedding, and instead cut their day to 40-50 people and booked The Forestside, treating their guests to a 6 course Michelin Star tasting menu.

NOW THAT'S HOW YOU DO A WEDDING!

Sian & Carl met in the very first year of university but didn’t start with the best of impressions with Carl trying to get Sian’s number while slightly drunk! After many nights out and many friends in common they finally got together, with one of Sian’s friends betting her £50 that one day they would get married! On Saturday, during Carl’s speech he made good on the bet for Sian and actually gave her friend the winnings to so much applause and laughter from their other guests!

Sian & Carl have spent so much of their life together already that when they were in New York in 2019 she wasn’t expecting him to get down on one knee in Central Park and fulfil her dream engagement by taking her to Tiffany’s to choose her very own ring!

It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know Sian & Carl over the past few years, and even though they were another Covid-postponement hit couple, in the end they had the most amazing wedding day ANYONE could have imagined! We might have had a little bit of rain but nothing dampened their spirits, or even their guests on that note, with the bridesmaids singing ‘going to the chapel’ (Chapel Of Love) throughout the morning, a party bus with drinks on providing transport for all guests, and in the evening espresso martinis and shots going round the packed dancefloor.

Sian and Carl deserve all the happiness because they truly are a lovely, kind and incredibly fun couple. I’m sure they’ve got many more adventures to come over the years. This is actually my LARGEST wedding preview I’ve ever given, so instead of going on I’ll let the photographs tell the rest of their beautiful story.

Here’s to the new and beautiful Mr & Mrs Stevenson!
