Their Wedding Story
I’ve got away without working storm Desmond and the many snow days we get in the north, but on the 27th November 2021 I truly got thrown in the deep end on the weather scale like so many others out there.
While many were hibernating, Emma & Narinder had woken to no power at their wedding venue and messages that their hairdresser and the bridesmaids makeup artist were stuck and unable to make it due to fallen trees blocking their path. Gareth Lambert went into planning mode and between the two of us at 5.30am we were already messaging Bridal Hair By Jessica who came to the rescue!
Breaking the traditional rules Emma & Narinder had to have a sit down together the morning of the wedding and discuss if their day could actually go ahead – with no power and many suppliers out on the roads trying their hardest to find a way around all the trees. It may not have been the wedding morning they had envisioned but Jessica soon turned up to start on hair (without electricity for curlers/straighteners) and by around 10am the power magically turned on with everyone in the house cheering and shouting, truly starting the party earlier than imagined!
Due to no electricity at my own house, I turned up 10 minutes later, unshowered (electric shower!!) with greasy hair after doing my makeup in the dark and slowly suppliers started to arrive bit by bit piecing the day of their dreams together! It really was a testament to how suppliers power through anything with everyone coming together to cover one another. I think the true stars of the day goes to Hidden River Barn, coming up with contingency plans, moving trees and trying to find a generator – especially Laura their coordinator who had to dump her car and climb over trees just to get to the venue to be with her couple!
The day without a shadow of a doubt showcased Emma & Narinder’s relationship to the fullest, making the best of a bad situation and still deciding to be positive and have as much fun as they can – even in the dark with all their guests trying to get ready! If their married life is anything like how they pulled together yesterday then I have no doubt these two have something incredibly special and can tackle anything that comes their way!
With all that being said, Emma was only 30 minutes late for her ceremony and they even sat down for their wedding breakfast on time after the most amazingly beautiful sunny Autumnal day.
It has been a pleasure getting to know Emma & Narinder over the past few years and am thrilled that I’ve been able to capture so many memorable moments for them.
I’ll let the photographs do the rest of the talking, but first, a massive congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Singh!!
